Pakistan’s MoU delusion: Quantity over quality in education
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa signs MoU to enrol 1.56 million out-of-school children, ignoring the systemic rot.
FO Take · Score 20
Another bureaucratic MoU, another hollow promise. Governments continually announce grand enrolment schemes, mistaking attendance for education. Without investing in teacher training, curriculum reform, and safe facilities, these initiatives are merely exercises in box-ticking. Children deserve genuine learning, not just a seat in a broken system. We must demand profound educational transformation, not performative gestures.
The strongest counter
Bringing any child into a classroom is a positive step. Initial enrolment provides an opportunity for future learning, however imperfect the current system. Progress starts with access.
