Loneliness is a Scam

Chinese seniors fleeced by "detox" conmen expose a global truth: isolation is the ultimate vulnerability. Connection is a human right, not a luxury.

Loneliness is a Scam
FO Take · Score 96

The elderly are not foolish; they are failed by a society that prioritises profit over people. These scams thrive in the vacuum of genuine human connection, preying on fundamental needs. Your loneliness is their ledger. Is blatant exploitation the price of human neglect?

The strongest counter

To assume these seniors were simply lonely dismisses individual agency. Some undoubtedly sought quick fixes for health, believing the pseudoscience regardless of social ties. Personal responsibility still plays a part, even in vulnerability.
