Kebbi Governor forms a committee to probe teacher salary grievances. This token gesture misses the true rot in educational funding and value.

Teacher Pay: A Band-Aid on a Gaping Wound
FO Take · Score 21

Another committee, another delay tactic. The real issue is the systemic undervaluation of educators. Paying teachers a pittance ensures only the desperate remain, perpetuating a cycle of mediocrity. Until we fundamentally reassess societal priorities and invest properly in education, these committees are utterly pointless. When will leaders stop tinkering and actually lead?

The strongest counter

Addressing salary grievances, even incrementally, can boost morale and attract better talent. It is a pragmatic first step towards improving educational outcomes and showing teachers respect.
