Secret Santa is for Slackers, Not Serious Workplaces
FO Take · Score 90

Secret Santa is a frivolous relic that has no place in the modern professional landscape. It forces an artificial bonhomie, often leading to awkward gift-giving and performative cheer. Businesses exist to create value, not to facilitate cringeworthy holiday rituals. Instead of exchanging cheap trinkets, focus on meaningful collaboration and genuine team-building that benefits the bottom line. Stop pretending compelled festivity fosters any real connection or boosts morale. Why do we tolerate such unproductive charades in our professional lives?

The strongest counter

Some argue that Secret Santa fosters team spirit and provides a lighthearted break from work pressures. It can be a harmless way to build camaraderie and celebrate the festive season collectively, promoting a positive workplace culture.
