Climate Debt: West’s inaction devastates Himalayan livelihoods
FO Take · Score 93

The West’s ongoing climate dithering isn’t merely environmental negligence; it’s a direct assault on the livelihoods of vulnerable nations. Decades of unbridled industrialisation now demand reparations, not platitudes. To ignore this debt is to actively dismantle economic stability and condemn communities to forced migration. Climate change isn’t an abstract threat; it’s a deliberate act of economic sabotage. We owe them more than empty promises.

The strongest counter

Blaming rich nations alone is too simplistic. Local governance and adaptation strategies also play crucial roles in mitigating climate impacts on workforces.
