Teacher’s conviction exposes systemic failure to safeguard students. This is not an isolated incident.

The horrific abuse by a Texas teacher is a damning indictment of a system that repeatedly fails to protect its most vulnerable. Safeguarding policies are routinely inadequate, and accountability is often an afterthought. We preach responsibility but practice negligence. When will schools prioritise safety over reputation, or are they simply incapable of doing so?
The strongest counter
While tragic, this was an individual's heinous act, not a systemic failing. Enhanced background checks and reporting mechanisms are already in place and continuously improving.
