"Staying in" as self-care is a marketing ploy to sanitise isolation. True connection demands presence.
FO Take · Score 25
The glorification of "staying in" as self-care is a cynical repackaging of basic human need for rest into a commodifiable trend. It weaponises wellness, subtly encouraging isolation while masking it as empowerment. Genuine self-care is proactive engagement with the world, not passive retreat. Are we truly nurturing ourselves, or just becoming more comfortably alone?
The strongest counter
Introverts thrive in solitude. Labelling their restorative practice as "isolation" ignores diverse needs for recharging. True self-care is personal; one size does not fit all.
