NEET overhaul: Two-stage exam and age cap will not fix India's education crisis
A parliamentary panel proposes significant changes to NEET, including a two-stage exam and an age cap, missing the real issue entirely.

India's examination system is broken because its education system is broken. Adding an age cap or a two-stage exam process for NEET merely tinkers at the edges of a deeply flawed structure. Students are pushed into rote learning, not critical thought. The problem is not exam integrity, it is the integrity of learning itself. This proposal fails to address the foundational issues of pedagogy and resource distribution. Expect no meaningful improvement.
Implementing a two-stage examination process could reduce stress and improve candidate quality by testing deeper understanding. An age cap could also ensure fairness and prevent multiple attempts from distorting merit.
