Surveillance Won't Save Schools

District Education Officer advocates for increased monitoring, mistakenly believing control breeds quality. Trust in educators is the true foundation.

Surveillance Won't Save Schools
FO Take · Score 20

Another bureaucrat misses the point entirely. More surveillance and "monitoring" will only stifle innovation and crush the already fragile morale of educators. True educational improvement stems from empowering teachers, not scrutinising their every move. Micromanagement is a policy of fear, not progress. When will we learn that trust, not control, unlocks genuine potential?

The strongest counter

Enhanced monitoring ensures accountability and identifies underperforming areas. It provides data for targeted interventions, ultimately safeguarding educational standards and student outcomes. Some oversight is necessary.
