Côte d’Ivoire is luring digital nomads. But beautiful beaches and culture will not fix bad policy or poor infrastructure.
FO Take · Score 35
Another month, another “hotspot” for digital nomads. This romanticised wandering offers little beyond a tan and a shallow cultural exchange. True work means building, committing, and contributing, not flitting between Wi-Fi signals. We must question the value of work without deep roots or genuine community. Is endless travel a career, or an escape from one?
The strongest counter
Digital nomads bring foreign currency, new skills, and diverse perspectives. Their presence can stimulate local economies and foster global understanding. Remote work is the future, and these pioneers are simply ahead of the curve.
