Education’s narcotic nonsense
Colleges waste time on “awareness seminars” instead of tackling the root causes of drug use among students. Useless platitudes.

Another institution, another pointless “anti-drug awareness seminar”. These events are a public display of performative action, sidestepping the difficult, systemic issues that lead to drug use in the first place. Until colleges address student mental health, academic pressure, and socioeconomic factors, they are merely rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic. When will educators cease this charade and genuinely engage with student realities?
Seminars, however imperfect, are a vital first step in sparking conversations about drug abuse. They offer a platform for information dissemination and can signpost support services to vulnerable students.
