AI is the only hope for mental health care

The traditional therapy model is broken. AI offers a scalable, unbiased alternative that face-to-face care cannot match.

AI is the only hope for mental health care
FO Take · Score 85

Face-to-face therapy is a relic, a luxury for the few, and often ineffective. While therapists cling to outdated methods, a generation drowns in mental health crises. AI offers immediate, judgment-free support, scaling to meet demand where human intervention fails. It is time to embrace AI as the primary mode of mental health intervention for young people. The alternative is continued decline. We must accept this new reality now.

The strongest counter

AI lacks empathy and human nuance. Complex mental health issues require human connection, not algorithms. Relying on AI risks misdiagnosis and depersonalisation of care.
