Pre-authorisation is an admission of operational failure

The "pre-auth protocol" for emergency renewals reveals a systemic lack of foresight, creating more work and not less for agencies.

Pre-authorisation is an admission of operational failure
FO Take · Score 75

The pre-auth protocol is not a solution, but a surrender. Agencies adopting this approach are simply admitting their operational processes are too fragile to handle predictable disruptions. It shifts the burden of preparedness onto the client's credit card, rather than embedding robust, proactive maintenance within their own systems. True efficiency lies in preventing the emergency, not having a pre-approved method to pay for its aftermath. This practice is a band-aid on a gaping wound of incompetence.

The strongest counter

Clients appreciate the peace of mind knowing critical services can be instantly restored. Pre-authorisation minimises downtime and strengthens client relationships by offering rapid resolution to unforeseen issues.
