Ditch the Doggy Humanisation

Anthropomorphising pets harms both hounds and humans. Realign your relationship, or both suffer.

Ditch the Doggy Humanisation
FO Take · Score 78

Our obsession with canine humanisation is a saccharine delusion, masking an inability to form authentic connection. Dogs are not furry children, nor are they subordinate pack members. They are distinct species with distinct needs. Projecting human neuroses onto them fosters dependency, not devotion. Stop the sentimental charade; respect their animal nature. What exactly are you trying to escape by infantilising your pet?

The strongest counter

Treating pets as family strengthens emotional bonds and provides comfort. Empathy extends beyond our species; it's a sign of a caring society.
