India's Girl Child Scheme: A Pathetic Pittance

Bengal doubles paltry schoolgirl scholarship to ₹2k. Real change demands more than token gestures.

India's Girl Child Scheme: A Pathetic Pittance
FO Take · Score 15

Another government scheme, another missed opportunity. Doubling a minuscule scholarship to ₹2k for schoolgirls by 2027 is an insult, not an investment. This performative gesture barely covers a textbook, let alone unlocks genuine educational potential. Stop pretending small sums create systemic equity. When will we fund futures, not just headlines?

The strongest counter

Every rupee helps. Even small scholarships encourage school attendance and provide essential resources for underprivileged girls. This move, however modest, signifies a commitment to female education.
