Education Fails Happiness

Schools neglect emotional skills, focusing solely on academic achievement, says IAS officer Divya Mittal.

Education Fails Happiness
FO Take · Score 20

Our education system, a relic of industrialism, churns out compliant fact-recipients, not resilient humans. It meticulously maps curricula to economic outputs, yet offers no compass for navigating inner worlds. We are left with a populace rich in data, poor in discernment, and utterly bereft of enduring joy. When will we prioritise the human over the automaton?

The strongest counter

Academic rigour is paramount. Happiness is a personal journey, not a curriculum component. Schools are for foundational knowledge, not therapy.
