Toxic Schools Breed Lonely Teachers

Organisational toxicity in Turkish schools directly causes teacher loneliness, exacerbated by a lack of agility. This isn't unique to Türkiye.

Toxic Schools Breed Lonely Teachers
FO Take · Score 75

This study confirms what we already know: toxic workplaces are soul-destroying. When school environments lack agility and foster toxicity, teachers become isolated. It is not merely a Turkish problem, but a universal indictment of broken systems. Prioritising "agility" over humanity is a catastrophic error. We need human-centred institutions, not buzzword-driven ones. What will it take to realise this basic truth?

The strongest counter

The study is limited to Türkiye and public schools. Its cross-sectional nature prevents causal claims. Teacher loneliness is a complex issue, not solely down to "toxic" organisations.
