Inclusion is an illusion
Saudi study reveals chasm in inclusion perceptions. Labels don't unite; they divide. True inclusion remains a fantasy.
Inclusion in education is a hollow promise, a bureaucratic tick-box exercise. Labelling students as "disabled" fundamentally segregates them, irrespective of co-location. This study merely confirms what is patently obvious: mandated inclusion without dismantling the very mechanisms of differentiation is a fool's errand. When will we abandon this charade and confront the true barriers?
This study, while highlighting perception gaps, fails to account for pedagogical advancements. Inclusive practices are evolving, and with proper training and resources, the benefits for all students are undeniable. Perceptions can shift with effective implementation.
