Co-housing offers a path to urban despair

Malaysia’s co-housing push is a disastrous experiment, trading genuine community for transient inconvenience

Co-housing offers a path to urban despair
FO Take · Score 20

Co-housing, touted as a solution to urban density, is a dystopian vision of forced proximity. It strips individuals of personal space and genuine autonomy, replacing authentic community with transactional living arrangements. This ersatz connection will inevitably lead to social fatigue and increased isolation, not the promised communal bliss. We’re building dorms for adults, not homes. Can we not see the coming loneliness epidemic

The strongest counter

Co-housing offers an affordable, sustainable solution to urban living, fostering community and shared resources amongst diverse individuals. It builds support networks and reduces isolation.
