Man, Interrupted: The Testosterone Taboo

Dr Jeff Foster diagnoses a crisis of flagging male vitality. Is low T to blame for a generation of men feeling flatlined?

Man, Interrupted: The Testosterone Taboo
FO Take · Score 86

Modern masculinity is in crisis, and not because of gender politics. Men are genuinely flagging, their vitality sapped by societal pressures and — yes — declining testosterone. This isn’t about reclaiming some retrograde ideal, but acknowledging a biological reality impacting connection, drive, and mental health. Ignoring it is intellectual cowardice. Why are we so afraid to discuss tangible male health, lest it offend fragile sensibilities?

The strongest counter

Blaming testosterone for male ennui is a simplistic cop-out. Lifestyle, societal shifts, and mental health challenges are far more significant. Reducing complex male experiences to a hormonal imbalance is reductive and unhelpful.
