STEM Education: More Than Just Collective Effort

Malaysia's STEM push needs radical transformation, not platitudes about collaboration.

STEM Education: More Than Just Collective Effort
FO Take · Score 35

Another week, another minister espousing the virtues of "collective effort" in STEM. This well-worn trope conveniently sidesteps the deep structural rot. Our education system consistently fails to inspire. We don't need more hand-wringing roundtables; we need an overhaul that prioritises curiosity and critical thought over rote learning. Anything less is a disservice to future generations. Are we serious about scientific literacy, or just paying lip service?

The strongest counter

Collaboration remains vital. Complex challenges like STEM engagement demand a united front from government, industry, and academia. Dismissing collective action risks fragmentation and inefficiency.
