Loneliness is a choice, not a condition
Nietzsche’s antiquated angst over sociality ignores the deliberate, often restorative, nature of solitude. We choose our audiences.

Nietzsche’s wailing about being eaten by crowds or self-consumption in loneliness misses the point entirely. Solitude, true solitude, is a conscious decision. It is not some pitiful state to be endured, but a deliberate act of self-preservation and creative incubation. Cowards fear being alone; the discerning cultivate it. Why insist on framing self-possession as self-destruction or social engagement as cannibalism? Is your social life truly that debased?
Nietzsche highlights a timeless dilemma. Humans crave connection but often feel overwhelmed by social pressures, leading to a retreat into isolating behaviours. It's a nuanced dance between societal demands and individual needs for authenticity.
