Extended Reality (XR) offloading SLAM to distant servers is a fool's errand. It’s a kludge to compensate for underpowered hardware, sacrificing user experience for marginal gains. Until devices can handle the computational load natively, XR will remain a niche curiosity, forever tethered to external processing. Why are we still optimising for limitations rather than breaking free from them?
