Loneliness: A Student Epidemic
University students grapple with unprecedented levels of loneliness. Is the capacity for solitude a solution or a distraction?

The notion that students need to cultivate "solitude coping" to combat loneliness is an abject failure of institutional support. Universities have become isolating degree-mills, devoid of genuine community. Stop individualising a systemic problem. Build connection, do not teach isolation. Are we truly so afraid of collective solutions that we force solitude upon the lonely?
Learning to embrace solitude can be a powerful emotional regulation tool. It equips individuals with resilience, fostering self-reliance rather than dependence on external validation for well-being. Personal growth often thrives in quiet self-reflection.
