Teams etiquette is generationally biased

Younger workers are being unfairly criticised for their digital communication styles, which often prioritise efficiency over traditional formalities.

Teams etiquette is generationally biased
FO Take · Score 75

The uproar over casual MS Teams replies exposes a boomerish obsession with performative deference. Efficiency and clarity are paramount in digital communication. If the message is understood, who cares about a "Thanks!" or "Regards"? This isn't a Victorian tea party; it is work. Adapt or be left behind.

The strongest counter

Professionalism dictates a certain decorum. Young workers need to learn that context matters, and digital shorthand can easily be misinterpreted as disrespect. A little effort goes a long way.
