A 12-year system is no panacea. Parents’ “open dialogue” veils systemic educational neglect, not progress.
FO Take · Score 20
Kyrgyzstan’s education system is in crisis, and merely extending schooling to 12 years is a policy devoid of imagination or genuine insight. The "open dialogue" with parents is a smokescreen, obscuring a lack of substantive reform. We need pedagogical revolutions, not calendar adjustments. Does Bishkek truly believe more time in inadequate classrooms solves anything?
The strongest counter
Lengthening schooling offers students more instructional hours and a broader curriculum, aligning with global standards. This could lead to improved academic outcomes and better preparation for higher education and employment.
